The Most Effective Alarm Clock Solution For Couples Who Love Their Sleep

It’s 6 AM. The alarm goes off blazing. Your partner rolls over fighting the urge to press snooze.

While they get ready for the day, you do your best to get another hour of sleep before you need to get up and start your morning routine.

But your brain won’t let you go back to bed.

You know your partner doesn’t mean to wake you up… but if we’re being honest, it’s not the best feeling in the world to miss out an hour of quality shuteye.

You’ve tried going to bed earlier, but Netflix and other distractions are too tempting.

Instead of starting your day on the right foot, you are forced to settle for less sleep than you need.

Given you spend up to 1/3 of your life sleeping with your partner, navigating the challenges of waking up at different times can cause incredible amounts of stress and frustration.

Fortunately…. there is a better way to wake up and start your day, no matter when you and your partner need to wake up.

A Little Bit About Me (and why it’s relevant to you)

My name is Maneesh Sethi, the founder CEO of Pavlok and habit expert.

My friends think that because I’m decently successful as an entrepreneur, CEO, and best-selling author, I’ve always had good habits and done well since childhood.

The truth is that I was a very average child with very average grades. “Maneesh, if only you would just apply yourself…” was something I heard countless times. My parents blamed a “lack of discipline and willpower.” After all, what else could the problem be?

Thankfully something changed the trajectory of my fate. One fall while I was in middle school, my brother went off to college and left a hefty pile of books behind.

Summer just finished and I wanted to entertain myself, so I decided to explore them. I soon began reading a little every single day.

Before I knew it, my life began to improve, and it wasn’t just my grades. I began exercising and started pushing myself to be more outgoing. I found myself slowly becoming the person I wanted to be.

Ultimately my journey to better understanding human behavior led me to found Pavlok, the only hardware solution to help you improve your habits.

But in the process of building Pavlok, we discovered that our hardware not only helps you improve your habits, it can help wake you up on time, without waking up the whole house.

In 2015, we launched an IGG for the original Shock Clock. The Device was designed to GUARANTEE that you wake up in the morning, at the precise moment you choose, using 3 different sensory stimulus, beep, vibe, and zap.

The campaign was a huge success, and we successfully fulfilled all of the units to our IndieGogo backers in 2015 (how many times has that NOT happened!!).

Along with shipping the Shock Clock hardware we launched a very simple app – the Pavlok Alarm Clock app. It was (and still is) very basic: one alarm, choose your stimulus, and press save, along with Snooze Lock, a feature that disables your ability to snooze the alarm and makes you do jumping jacks to shut it off.. It’s not fancy, but holy @#$% is it effective!

This isn’t just some crazy idea – we’ve had thousands of Pavlok users use the original Shock Clock to wake up quickly and feel alert every morning, and their stories are inspirational to hear.

But what we quickly discovered is that many of our Shock Clock users were leveraging the Shock Clock 2 help them wake up WITHOUT disturbing their partner.

While in an ideal world you would wake up at the same time, the truth is we have different responsibilities for our job and other obligations.

Maybe you and your partner just had a child and you each take a night to take care of the baby. Or maybe your partner works the night shift.

Not being able to sleep because of your partners alarm can prevent you from getting the quality sleep you need.

Since using the Shock Clock 2, my relationship with my partner has improved dramatically. No more waking each other up at different hours.

  Introducing The Shock Clock 2

Snooze Lock: The original Shock Clock introduced the Snooze Lock, the ability to lock the snooze and keep your alarm running until you get out of bed and do jumping jacks. Our advanced motion tracking forces you to get on your feet and get your body moving. Imagine waking up alert and ready for your day by doing 10-15 jumping jacks in order to shut-off your alarm. It might sound crazy, but man is it affective!

Accountability: Shock Clock 2 will let your friends know if you don’t wake up—-and if you don’t get out of bed, optionally give them the ability to zap you awake.

Sleep Cycle Analysis: Shock Clock 2 will have automatic sleep tracking using advanced motion detection from a 9-axis accelerometer so you can track your sleep and learn what patterns and habits you can develop to get the best night’s sleep possible!

Morning Routine: Shock Clock 2 will come with a built in Morning Routine schedule so you can set the tasks that are most important for your day and make sure you get them done first thing. If you don’t do your routine, watch out, a zap is coming!

Evening Routine: One of the main requests we get from Pavlok and Shock Clock users is help getting to sleep at night. Shock Clock 2 will feature an evening routine reminder that will alert you when it is time to start getting ready for bed and provide you with a checklist of items you choose to prepare for your best night’s sleep.

How the Shock Clock 2 Works

Order the Pavlok Shock Clock and Wristband

All Pavlok products have a 60-day money-back guarantee. Technically you could build your habit and return your Pavlok. But thankfully you’re not that kind of person.

Download the Pavlok app on your phone.

Go into the My Pavlok Remote section and pair your wristband. Once paired you can set up the intensity of your zap. We recommend starting with 30%.

Go into the Wake Up Trainer module and set your first alarm.
Choose the time you want to wake up, the days of the week you want this to apply, and what stimulus you want to wake you. You can choose any combination of vibrate, beep, and zap. Once you have chosen the stimulus for your alarm you then set the intensity.

That’s it! Your Shock Clock 2 will help you and your partner wake up on time without waking the other person up.
